Why You Should Remodel Your Bathroom

Why You Should Remodel Your BathroomShould I remodel my bathroom? This is a question that many ask frequently, and many do not know the answer. Below are the reasons why you should remodel your bathroom if you have question on doing so. Let’s get started.

Many of us dislike the space in our bathrooms; the space is just too small. To Make matters even worse, if you and your family live in an older home, then the space is really too small. For example, a shower built several decades ago may be three by three and half feet…that is really small. Some are even smaller than that, which is even more reason to remodel your bathroom.

A similar reason many choose to remodel their bathroom is related to the point made above; the bathroom needs an update. After a certain amount of time bathrooms, like the rest of your house, start to look old. As much as ninety percent of a bathroom is outdated, generally. These means the tub is tiny, the fixtures are a mess…it is just not working. The ways you want to use your bathroom are missing. Of course, after a remodel you will still use the bathroom the same as before, but there will be added convenience there for you.

Another reason to remodel your bathroom, is it is a safety concern. This is a dead give away that something needs to change, or risk injury. Maybe your bathtub is too slippery, you have broken tiles, the the glass shower door is cracked…any of these things could mean a remodel. Especially if everything is falling apart at once, it is easier to remodel instead of replacing one thing at a time.

Going along with what is stated above, if your bathroom is more effort than it is worth to clean, regarding mold and mildew, then it is time for a remodel. Mold and mildew are terrible to deal with and can make you ill. So if you are having similar problems, then it is time for a new bathroom.

This may be obvious to some, but having plumbing problems in your bathroom is bad news. Dirty water and leaking faucets are just the beginning. A plumber may solve these issues temporarily, but eventually you will need to refurbish the room. Refurbishing can be cheaper as well, seeing as you will only need the plumber once to install the new pipes during a remodel.

Last, but not least, a new bathroom will increase the value of your home. It is the same as remodeling your whole house, making the bathroom up-to-date and modern will make it your home more desirable and increase the value. Keep this in mind if you are planning on selling your home.
